WANG Kezhen

王克震

Artist, independent curator, and Director of the Modern Crafts Center at Nanjing University of the Arts, where he also serves as Associate Professor. Wang Kezhen received his bachelor's degree in Decorative Art and Design from Nanjing University of the Arts. He later earned a master's degree in Jewellery, Silversmithing, and Related Products from the University of Birmingham, UK, where he was also invited to remain as an artist-in-residence. He subsequently studied under Professor Hang Jian and received his Ph.D. from the China Academy of Art.

As an artist, Wang Kezhen has been committed to innovation and transformation throughout his decade-long creative career, actively participating in exhibitions and events both in China and internationally. His works have been collected by institutions such as the Victoria and Albert Museum (UK), the China National Arts and Crafts Museum, as well as art organizations in Denmark and the Netherlands.

In parallel, Wang Kezhen is also a dynamic curator, especially in the fields of contemporary craft and contemporary jewellery. He has curated and led several significant exhibitions, including Non-Craftsmen – Contemporary Chinese Craft Exhibition (Nanjing, China); The Other Mountain – Contemporary Chinese Jewellery Exhibition (UK, National Centre for Craft & Design); Contemporary Chinese New Jewellery Exhibition (Melbourne, Australia); and Triple Steps – A Nomination Exhibition of Contemporary Chinese Crafts.
